Clay Conversation in Venice

On 18 September 2019, Caroline hosted a walking tour of ceramic locations in Venice starting at the Ateneo Veneto, site of Edmund de Waal’s commission, Psalm.

Did you know that Venice was historically a thriving centre of ceramic production? That archaeologists have found kilns under the Campo Santa Margherita? And that there are still many contemporary ceramicists working in the city?

This ‘walk and talk’ started at the Ateneo Veneto and explored the installation ‘Psalm’ by Edmund de Waal, moving on to visit two contemporary ceramicists who work in the city.
